Inspection & Remedial Works

✓ Covering The South of England

What We Do

Think of an EICR as an MOT for your building's electrics.

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal assessment of the fixed electrical wiring and systems in your commercial property. It checks everything is safe, up to standard, and compliant with current UK regulations.

As a business owner or commercial landlord, you’re legally responsible for the electrical safety of your premises. An EICR is the recognised way to demonstrate that responsibility — and to make sure nothing goes wrong.

How We Do It

We take care of everything you need to stay compliant. Here’s our process:

We Inspect

A thorough assessment of your fixed wiring, consumer units, circuits, sockets, and earthing — all tested to BS 7671 standards.

We Report

You receive a clear, jargon-free report detailing any issues found, what they mean, and what — if anything — needs to be done.

We Fix

If remedial work is needed, we handle it too. No subcontractors, no delays — just one team from start to finish.

Who We Help

Whether you run a café or a commercial estate, we've got you covered.

Business Owners & Occupiers

If you lease or own your premises, you have a legal duty to ensure the fixed electrical installation is safe for employees, customers, and visitors. We’ll carry out your EICR with minimal disruption to your working day — and sort any issues on the spot where possible.

We work with offices, retail units, restaurants, hospitality venues, warehouses, and more.

Commercial Landlords

UK law requires commercial premises to be electrically safe. Without a valid EICR, you’re exposed to fines, insurance voidance, and liability if anything goes wrong. We make it straightforward — we inspect, report, and carry out any remedial works within your required 28-day window.

We can manage multiple properties and issue certificates directly.

Facilities Managers

Managing compliance across a portfolio is complex enough without chasing subcontractors. We work with facilities teams to schedule inspections efficiently, provide clear documentation, and complete remedial works to the same standard — all through a single point of contact.

Property Developers & Agents

Whether you’re preparing a commercial unit for letting or handing over a new build, we can provide EICR certification quickly and accurately. We understand deadlines matter — and we work around yours.

We can manage multiple properties and issue certificates directly.

Why Us

We don't just hand you a report and wave goodbye.

Most electrical contractors carry out an inspection, hand you a certificate, and leave any problems for someone else to fix. We do things differently.

At RS Design & Technology Electrical, we’re a full-service team. We inspect your installation, give you a plain-English report, and if remedial work is required, we carry it out ourselves — quickly, to the same high standard, and fully documented.

- One Team, Start to Finish

Inspection and remedial works handled by the same qualified team. No referrals, no gaps, no excuses.

- Reports You'll Actually Understand

We write plain-English reports. You’ll know exactly what was found, what it means, and what happens next.

- Fully Accredited

Our electricians hold the relevant qualifications and accreditations to legally certify your property.

- South of England Coverage

Based in Romsey, we cover Hampshire, Dorset, and across the wider South of England for commercial clients.

- Minimal Disruption

We work around your schedule — including early mornings, evenings, and weekends where needed — to keep your business running.

- Fast Turnaround on Certificates

We know that compliance deadlines can’t wait. Reports and certificates are issued promptly after inspection.

Getting your EICR sorted is simpler than you think.

You get a clear report

If anything needs fixing, we quote clearly and carry out the work ourselves — no third parties, no waiting around. Everything is documented for your records.

That’s it. No chasing. No confusion. Just a compliant, safe property — and the paperwork to prove it.

Automatically Registered with Building Control

Every EICR we issue is registered on the NICEIC database and reported directly to the relevant local authority building control — no paper certificates to lose or chase. Your compliance record is digital, independently verified, and there when you need it.

Your Legal Responsibilities at a Glance

We know compliance can feel like a headache — so here’s the short version:

  • Commercial premises must have a current EICR in place.  This is required under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and underpins your insurance compliance.
  • Most commercial properties require an EICR every 5 years.  Higher-risk environments such as industrial sites may need one every 3 years.
  • If an issue is found, remedial work must be completed within 28 days.  We handle that too — no need to find a separate contractor.
  • Non-compliance can invalidate your insurance and expose you to significant liability.  Don’t leave it to chance.
